“Creating Winners in the Workplace” program empowers business leaders and their teams to create the working environment that will motivate their staff. Dr. Arnold Mol is well known for assisting leaders to guide their staff in finding the inner motivation to succeed. All leaders desire their staff to provide superior service but struggle to transfer to others the true motivation needed to succeed. See the value of openly portraying confidence in your team, of wisely evaluating performance, and rewarding others effectively. Identify in more detail your specific role in this process of motivating others.

Day One, Participants will:

  • Understand the three different management theories that managers believe in, and the impact those beliefs have on their management styles as well as the behavior of their direct reports.
  • Gain insight into the theory of motivation and how the principles are applied in a practical work situation.
  • Do a case study that will further enhance their understanding of the factors that motivate people. Application focuses mainly on the work situation, but illustrations as to how they apply to the home situation will also be given.
  • Gain an understanding of the different types of leadership and how they apply to different situations in the work environment.
  • Be given a homework assignment.

Day Two, Participants will:

  • Learn how to set objectives with their direct reports.
  • Learn how to delegate responsibility to their staff.
  • Learn how to measure and evaluate the performance of their direct reports.
  • Learn how to build confidence in their staff members.
  • Learn how to deal with non-performance on the part of their direct reports.
  • Learn how to use rewards to motivate their staff.
  • Learn how to implement this management approach.

Day 1

7:45 – 9:45 Morning Session 1:

Management Beliefs
Managers will analyze their beliefs, and the impact these beliefs have on their management style and on the subsequent behavior of their staff.

9:45 – 10:00 Tea Break 

10:00 – 11:15 Morning Session 2:

The Theory of Motivation
Understand the difference between motivation and movement, and gain insight into the three basic factors that motivate people both at work and at home.

11:15 – 11:30 Leg Stretch 

11:30 – 12:45 Morning Session 3:

Practical Application
This session will give you insight into how the motivators can be applied in a practical way to any job situation.

12:45 – 13:30 Lunch

13:30 – 15:00 Afternoon Session 4:

Case Study
A continuation of the practical application of the theory, as well as showing how to give direct reports a sense of ownership.

15:00 – 15:15 Tea Break 

15:15 – 16:00 Afternoon Session 5:

Leadership at Work & Home
Understand the different types (not styles) of leadership – and what type of leadership is required for different situations. See how these principles can be applied to the home situation.

Day 2

7:45 – 9:30 Morning Session 6:

Setting objectives with direct reports
This session will show you how to follow the five steps involved in goal-setting. A specific job is used to illustrate the process. The approach is unique in that it is aimed at maximizing the staff member’s experience of success.

9:30 – 9:45 Tea Break

9:45 – 11:15 Morning Session 7:

Delegating responsibility and evaluating performance
This session will take you through the steps of utilizing your direct reports’ judgment ability. You will gain insight into the difference between measuring and evaluating performance. The use of scorecards will be demonstrated practically.

11:15 – 11:30 Leg Stretch

11:30 – 12:30 Morning Session 8:

The key to success
This session will deal with the single most important factor that contributes to success – both at work, in sport, and at home. Practical guidelines are given for increasing your own self-confidence as well as those of your staff members.

12:30 – 13:15 Lunch

13:15 – 15:00 Afternoon Session 9:

Role play – Dealing
with non-performance After practicing some new skills in a role-play situation, you will gain insight into the practical steps involved in motivating a non-performer to improve his performance.

15:00 – 15:15 Tea Break

15:15 – 16:15 Afternoon Session 10:

Rewards, implementation and conclusion
Effective ways to reward staff to motivate rather than move them. The last 15 minutes will be a wrap-up regarding the steps required to implement this system, and a summary of the basic principles covered in this seminar.
